July 27th 1900
~July 27th 1900. Two Mile Kenawha Co. Weather pleasant after eating breakfast we started for St. Albans. There waited for the train it must have been Negro day the train was loaded with them. Took the train for Charleston found all well.~
~Photo is the original train depot at St. Albans,taken in 1911. It still stands today as a museum.
~St. Albans to Charleston is 21 miles along the Kenawha River.
~Photo in St. Albans: The passenger railroad depot built by the C&O here still stands, restored, used as a museum. Also the passenger depot built by the Coal River & Western Railway here remains.
