~July 11th 1900. Cable Co. Weather very pleasant but warm. Bid Hazletts goodbye and started for Hamlin, Lincoln Co. Took dinner* with Alonzo Luther, gave them some tracks inquired the way to Hamlin. One would tell us it was 14 miles go on a little farther ask again and it was still farther. Received a few refusals, stopped with Mr. Jessie Queen.~
~Remember back then(and still in Wy.)lunch is "dinner" and dinner is "supper".
~ Hamlin is 26.5 miles,and apx. 8 hrs. 47 min. (walking) distance from Huntington.Thats on PAVED roads.
